iPad FAQ
How to delete a photo?
You cannot delete a photo directly from Photogene. Apple does not allow 3rd party apps (such as Photogene) to delete photos.
1. Open the iPad's photo viewer (sunflower icon).
2. Click on the box-with-arrow icon at the top right of the screen.
3. Tap to select the photos you wish to delete.
4. Tap on the "Delete" button that now appears on the top left.
Why is there only "Save" and not "Save as"?
Photogene ALWAYS creates a fresh copy of the photo, and never overrides the original.
In that sense, every save is really a "save as".
So why can't I assign a file name to my saved photo?
The iPad doesn't really have a concept of names for photos. The names are not displayed anywhere.
Can I overwrite the original photo?
Nope, sorry.
Apple does not allow 3rd party apps such as Photogene to overwrite photos - only create new ones.
Can Photogene edit RAW files? At what resolutions?
Photogene can open and edit any file that the iPad camera-connection-kit can import. Even RAW files in very high resolutions (10 MP and higher).
However, the maximum output resolution of Photogene is 2048x2048 (4 MP) and the result is always saved as a JPEG.
In the next version we'll probably improve this to 6 MP, but it's unlikely we'll be able to go much higher because of the iPad's limited memory.
Why can't I save my edited photos back to their original album?
Sadly, the iPad operating system does not support altering the content of albums.
The only way to edit/add/remove photos from an album is by syncing with a PC. Only the "saved photos" album can be edited on the iPad itself.
Therefore, the edited photos can only be saved back to the "saved photos" album and not to their original source.
